Iron Horse Wranglers Barn Find AMT Piranha built in 1966 and designed by legendary builder Gene Winfield. The Piranha was used in the third series of the original The Man from U.N.C.L.E. TV show. The Piranha was based on a Chevrolet Corvair but features a sleek exterior design fit for a high-ranking United Network Command for Law and Enforcement operative. AMT were actually model makers and produced only 3 known Piranha’s for sale using the Chevrolet Corvair Turbo-air 6 cylinder horizontally opposed rear engine, rear wheel drive layout.

The Piranha was originally meant to show the usability of ABS plastic in automotive materials. Winfield began producing this car as a kit, and made it a television star as well, first appearing in March 1967 on “The Man from Uncle” TV Series.

IronHorse Wranglers is currently in the process of restoring this amazing vehicle to its original pristine condition.
